    • The top 5 brands have changed little over the decades. What has changed is the prices. Thank God for stores such as Sam Ash Music who have come out with their Jean Baptiste Brand Trumpet. Nicely built, good sound, and in tune. I would consider it. Then we have the Bach TR Series, Getzen Caprig. and finally, Yamaha 2330. A little pricey but, it’s a good horn. As they say, you get what you pay for. As I said, bring your Band Director with you when you buy or rent. Look into rent while buying. It’s a good idea.
